About Kerry

Kerry Murphy

You may be wondering who Kerry Murphy is.  I hope to share some of her story with you so you can get a glimpse of who she is and how much she enjoys sharing her gift of playing the piano with others.

Kerry was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota.  Her parents provided her with lessons at the age of six and quickly discovered how much she loved to play the piano!  Growing up, Kerry volunteered and performed around the Twin Cities and realized that playing the piano was what she was meant to do with her future.  Kerry attended the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) where she majored in Piano and minored in Business.  Since graduating, Kerry has performed and instructed piano for eleven years.  In 2005 Kerry was asked to participate in an art exhibit for Easter.  She composed a piano solo piece for this and enjoyed the process with all the frustrations and rewards so much that she began arranging other pieces.  Soon Christmas music was filling our home all year long!  I honestly could not tell you at what point we made the decision to create a full CD, but she has spent countless hours arranging, practicing, and working to get each song just right.  She chose Christmas for her theme as it is her favorite time of the year.  She loves all the seasons in Minnesota but especially looks forward to the great joy and happiness that comes with the holiday season.

"Joy to the World" is Kerry's first CD and it will fill your home with Christmas spirit.  It has 12 wonderful Christmas songs arranged by Kerry in a unique and very special way.  I think you will fall in love with her music as it is a joy to sit back and relax to.  I hope it reminds you of good times with family and friends.

Kerry currently plays for Berea Lutheran Church in Richfield, Minnesota and teaches over 20 students at her studio in Shakopee.  Kerry and I have been married for 13 years and we have two wonderful children - Madison (10) and Jake (8).
